Sourav Ganguly to be new BCCI president

After two-and-a-half years under the Committee of Administrators the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to get an elected president. Sourav Ganguly was the only person to file his nomination for the post of president ensuring that he will be elected unopposed during BCCI AGM on October 23, 2019. Ganguly will step down from his position as the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal. The former Indian Captain will have a limited time as president of the BCCI as he will go into a three-year cooling off period some time in 2020 or 2021 based on the Justice Lodha reforms. The choice for president’s post was between Ganguly and Brijesh Patel but the former was accepted as an unanimous candidate.
